Read beyond the abstract
I trace what was actually tested, at what form and endpoint, and separate useful evidence from decorative citation.
The person behind the ingredient list
I’m Bhavya Rose Abbi: cosmetic formulation strategist and published health-outcomes researcher.
My background taught me not to confuse a confident sentence with good evidence. I look at how a study was designed, whether the raw material in your formula matches the one in the paper, where the result stops and what the finished product can responsibly say.
I give the same attention to texture, routine and consumer perception because a formula still has to earn repeat use.

My point of view
A prestige product is not a higher ingredient count. It is a more coherent set of decisions; from raw-material specification to the last five seconds of drydown.
I trace what was actually tested, at what form and endpoint, and separate useful evidence from decorative citation.
“Luxurious” is not a texture target. Slip, playtime, break, cushion, tack, finish and climate behaviour can be described and tested.
Cost, MOQ, pack, ritual, SKU role and claims are formula decisions too. I keep them at the same table.
Why this studio exists
I design the product direction. Your laboratory chemist makes, tests and perfects the physical formula. That split is usually faster, clearer and less expensive than paying one person to guess across both jobs.
Evidence-led ingredient selection, formula direction, exact material specifications, suppliers, claims, costs, brand fit and a plan for every sample round.
Physical sampling, hands-on adjustments, stability and compatibility testing, safety work, scale-up and manufacturing.
Two different lenses catch more. The chemist catches what only making the product can reveal. I catch the strategic, evidence and claim decisions that can quietly pull the product away from the brand. Their time becomes more productive, your feedback becomes more precise and fewer expensive rounds are spent figuring out what the product was meant to be.
A note for laboratories
I am not the contract manufacturer. I am a collaborative technical partner who arrives with the ambiguity reduced.
Best-fit work
I do my best work across skincare, hair and scalp care, and body care, especially actives-forward serums, barrier systems, masks, bond and growth-support products, clean reformulation, Ayurvedic, Mediterranean and other heritage-led concepts, botanical integration and multi-product ranges.
You do not need to speak chemistry. You do need to care about building something more considered than a copy-paste trend product.
